Texas five star recruit Bryson Howard, who is down to Duke, Kentucky and UNC, will announce Tuesday afternoon at 4:30.
A gifted 6-6 two-way player, Howard would fit right in with Jon Scheyer’s system. He
has also said that his priority is to find a program that treats people like family. Sounds like a good candidate for the Brotherhood.
If you haven’t heard, he’s also Josh Howard’s son. Howard of course played at Wake Forest from 1999-2003 before going on to a terrific NBA career.
Trivia we didn’t know: The elder Howard was born with bowed legs and had to have them broken below the knee and reset – twice – before he was two years old.
Bryson, currently 6-6, is talented offensively and his wingspan has been listed anywhere from 6-11 to 7-2. That would also make him a tremendous defender. If Duke is lucky enough to have him on the same team as Jordan Smith, the defensive potential will be tantalizing.
We hope to be able to update as soon as he announces, but may have to wait until after the Duke-UCF exhibition. Here’s a link for his announcement. Obviously we hope he chooses Duke, but it’s the biggest decision of his life so far and he has to do what makes sense for him. If it’s not Duke, we wish him the very best.
