Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hoops
Mizzou Basketball had a golden opportunity on Saturday night vs Texas to improve their bubble status, but an 85-68 loss to the Longhorns has the Tigers currently outside of the NCAA Tournament picture.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi and Bracketeer’s Rocco Miller have Mizzou as the First Team Out of the field.
Some projections still have the Tigers as one of the Last Teams In — according to CBS Sports and The Field of 68.
Either way, Mizzou is right on the cutline. The good news is that they have six more games in the regular season to make up some ground. It obviously won’t be easy as they have the second hardest remaining schedule in college basketball.
It all starts on Wednesday night vs Vanderbilt — who come in ranked No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Needless to say, it’s gut-check time for Mizzou.

Their 34 runs in Sunday’s game is the most of any Tiger team since 1902
Don’t care who you’re playing. 34 runs is A LOT!
This week’s column entirely focuses on men’s basketball. On Saturday, the Tigers fell to Texas 85-68 at Mizzou Arena, marking the team’s second home loss this season. Here are the photos of the week.
Some great photos from Hannah despite a tough home loss to Texas in front of a sold out crowd.
Just one word of caution as we enter the final three weeks of the regular season. Three of the four best defenses in the conference lie ahead of the Tigers, and one of those teams you play twice. The good news is you found a way to beat the best defense in the conference, and that’s Florida. Vanderbilt is #4, Arkansas is #3, and Tennessee is #2. There isn’t much of a path to the NCAA Tournament if you can’t win at least one of those, and you probably want to grab two of them.
