The Seattle Seahawks have named their captains for their prime time home game against the Houston Texans on Monday night.
This week, offensive tackle Charles Cross, defensive tackle Byron Murphy II, and
punter Michael Dickson have the captain honors. This is the second time Cross has been named game captain this season.
Charles Cross has been off to another strong start. With an overall PFF score of 77.4, Charles Cross comes in as the 11th best offensive tackle this season. Even more notable from PFF is a pass block score of 83.1 for Cross, good enough for seventh best in the NFL. Cross will be put to a big test this Monday as he will line up against a dominant Houston Texans edge rush group.
Byron Murphy II has exploded off the screen in 2025. After a two-sack outing last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Murphy II now has 4.5 sacks on the season. That number is tied for first amongst defensive tackles, tied with two-time All-Pro Jeffery Simmons. As dominant as the Texans’ defensive line has been this season, the opposite can be said for Houston’s offensive line. Murphy II, along with the rest of the Seahawks’ defense, should look to wreak havoc on this clear weakness for the Texans.
Michael Dickson is earning his first captain status this season. Dickson is the longest tenured Seahawk, and is one of only two active players who made the Seahawks Top 50 Players (along with Devon Witherspoon.)
