Now that the Tennessee Titans have hired Robert Saleh as their head coach, they turn their attention to hiring a coaching staff. One of the benefits of hiring Saleh is that he has a lot of good connections
from his time coaching in the league. On the offensive side of the ball, he has spent time on staff with both Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur. That gives him a deep bench of good offensive minds as potential hires.
Titans offensive coordinator search
It seems like the offensive coordinator search is in a bit of a holding pattern while former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll interviews for head coaching openings. Diana Russini said this week that Daboll is expected to sign with the Titans as OC if he does not land a head coaching gig. Daboll would be a home run hire.
Two names that had been rumored to be in the mix for OC, Bobby Slowik and Arthur Smith, both took other jobs today – Slowik with the Miami Dolphins and Smith with Ohio State. You can cross their names off the list. Tom Pelissero has also mentioned Kliff Kingsbury and Adam Stenavich as potential candidates if Daboll doesn’t land here.
Titans defensive coordinator search
Two names have surfaced as potential defensive coordinators for the Titans. Dallas Cowboys’ defensive line coach Adam Whitecotton, and Houston Texans’ defensive backs coach Dino Vasso. Rapoport mentions that both Matt Burke and Jim Schwartz are pushing for Vasso. That’s some good guys to have in his corner.
