Monaco have joined the race to sign Marc Casado from Barcelona this summer, with the midfielder being tipped to move on in search of regular game time.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Casado’s agent Jorge Mendes was in Monaco yesterday to help tie up deals for Ansu Fati and Filipe Luis and the Barca star’s name was mentioned.
Casado is facing a big decision this summer after struggling for minutes in 2025-26. The midfielder’s love for the club is clear but he faces a real battle for game time given the competition
for places in the squad right now.
There has been talk of a Saudi move for Casado but he’s also played down talk of an exit recently, saying: “What I’m most excited about is having a very long career and many years at Barça.”
Yet Casado’s situation at the club means offers are likely to arrive, and Barca’s financial situation suggests they are unlikely to stand in his way if he does decide to go.
A move to Monaco could see Casado link up with Ansu Fati. The forward is believed to be close to agreeing a permanent deal with the Ligue 1 side following a season out on loan.
