It was just not meant to be on Monday for the Braves. Kyle Schwarber once again went deep for the only run in the game, but the story was the dominance of Jesus Luzardo during his complete game shutout against the Braves in a 1-0 win for the Phillies.Grant Holmes was outstanding once again, but the offense never could get going.
As a result, the Braves earned a series split with the Phillies. While the offense still had plenty of struggles, the kept their division lead the same. Furthermore, they
earned the tiebreaker by winning the season series, essentially making the division lead five games. You have to feel that makes the weekend a success, as long as the Braves continue the momentum as the schedule remains tough over the next few weeks.
