Khalid Kareem was a Falcon again for a very short while, but that time has ended. The San Francisco 49ers have poached Kareem off Atlanta’s practice squad to help with a decimated group of edge rushers, and the Falcons have replaced him on the practice squad with another familiar face in Bralen Trice.
Kareem spent parts of the past two seasons for the Falcons, providing useful run defense and some pressure in limited looks. Trice, meanwhile, is a former third round pick who missed each of the past two seasons with injury and wasn’t able to make the 53 man roster after a fairly quiet summer. Back on the practice squad, he’ll have a chance to continue to hone his craft and hope to get an opportunity to show he still has the skill that made the Falcons excited to draft him in the first place.
I wish Kareem well and I’m glad Trice is back. Only eight days until the Falcons play!
