On Monday, October 27, the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Washington Commanders on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in the Week 8 edition of “Monday Night Football.” Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 Arrowhead Time
on ESPN and ABC — locally on KMBC/9.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City has opened as a 9.5-point favorite in the game.
In Week 7, the Chiefs opened as 12.5-point favorites against the Las Vegas Raiders before claiming a historic 31-0 domination of their AFC West rival. The Commanders had started the week as 2.5-point favorites over the Dallas Cowboys, but suffered an embarrassing 44-22 defeat on Sunday.
The Commanders have been injury-plagued for most of the season — and it is likely their star quarterback Jayden Daniels will start the week as questionable for Monday’s game with a hamstring injury suffered against the Cowboys.
Daniels’ injury concerns will be a big topic of conversation going into this game, but Washington’s other issues loom much larger. The team’s defense is at the bottom of the league in most major categories — and it will face a Chiefs offense that has been nearly automatic in recent weeks.
Kansas City scored touchdowns on its first four possessions against Las Vegas — and with MVP-caliber play from Patrick Mahomes (and the return of wide receiver Rashee Rice), the team will be hard to stop.
