Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking (more) about Ahmad Hardy.
Another day, another All-American honor for Mizzou’s Ahmad Hardy. On Wednesday, he was named a First-Team All-American by the Sporting News.
Hardy led all Power 4 running backs with 1,560 rushing yards this season. Hardy had a 300-yard, three-TD performance against Mississippi State on Nov. 15. Hardy had eight games with 100 or more rushing yards and never had less than 50 yards in any game this season.
With the addition of the Sporting News, Hardy was named a First Team All-American by Associated Press, Walter Camp Football Foundation, and the American Football Coaches Association. Per MUTigers.com, that gives Hardy consensus All-American status and he becomes the 15th Mizzou Football player in program history to earn that honor.
Hardy is one step closer to reaching unanimous All-American status as the FWAA (Football Writers Association of America) will be announced later.
Hardy will be primed for a much-anticipated junior season, so make sure you renew your Mizzou Football season tickets.

For the first time ever, Mizzou Gymnastics earns a preseason rank inside the top eight, ranking seventh in the 2026 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll.
High expectations for Shannon Welker’s squad. Should be a fun season which starts on January 4th vs Iowa State.
So for the foreseeable future (aka one month from when I’m writing this), we’re going to use this post as a home base for transfer portal activity. We’ve put together a handy little table showing you all the players we think Mizzou is/should be targeting (the ‘Targets’ tab) and another showing which Mizzou players are moving out and going else where (the ‘Outgoing Activity’ tab.)
It’s transfer portal SZN. Let’s get weird.
In the end, bowl games usually come down to motivation level — and Mizzou should be plenty motivated as the Tigers are looking to clinch three consecutive 9+ win seasons for the first time in program history.
Mizzou has plenty to play for in the Gator Bowl vs Virginia. Give us your predictions!
I came away from this meet impressed and counting down the days to the opener. As of the release of this story, it’s just 18 days away. [pauses to jump for joy]
It’s time to start getting excited about Mizzou Gymnastics, people!
- Over at Rock M+: Marquis Johnson has entered the transfer portal. Not a huge surprise, but WR is now a position of need. Plus, revisiting preseason projections on Mizzou Hoops.
