This past week, I mentioned that there were rumors that our Miami Dolphins were considering signing Stefon Diggs to help shore up the wide receivers room. I then asked the following question:
Are you in favor of the Miami Dolphins kicking the tires on and possibly signing wideout Stefon Diggs for the 2026 season, and why or why not?
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
ratfamilyreset asks why do we need this diva?
Why? Are the fins a diva away from a championship? They are rebuilding…right? I
know, let’s win as many games as possible on a rebuild year, ensuring mid round draft picks so we can revel in mediocrity once again! It’s worked so well before!
dolfan70 does not seem in favor of the move.
NO NO NO
Oldarmyguy is not on board either. Seems like a trend here!
Big no from me. Possible Diva personality & seriously hinder rookie development IMHO
Urthling says he doesn’t have the kind of leadership that you want from a veteran on an otherwise young team.
Diggs is not the ‘veteran leadership’ this team needs. He’s a better fit for a contender looking for a solid WR2.
Tying up cap space and playing time in Diggs that could be invested in developing draft picks runs counter to the ‘draft & develop’ model Sullivan has been working towards.
darrel.owen says it would be one of the dumbest moves ever, which is saying something.
Yeah… no. This move makes zero sense for us and would be one of the dumbest moves ever.
Phoenix6 says go on…get…
Stefon move on… we don need none your kind round heeya.
PA phinphan says hell to the no, you lazy journalist.
Hella No!
This rumor speaks of click bait for some lazy journalism. Let’s see, who doesn’t have a WR1? The Dolphins. What free agent, diva, ex-WR1 doesn’t have a team? Stefon Diggs. Cool, let’s put them together and call it a rumor. That should get a lot of clicks.
Lefty5150 says move on down the road, sir!
No thank you. Move along Mr. Diggs there is nothing for you here.
MIAMI235 has some jeers for the idea.
Boo Hiss….
JKBMia is pretty sure the Phins are not actually considering this, based on a list of factors.
Doesn’t seem to make sense from anyone’s perspective.
Diggs is almost assuredly going to a contender at this point in his career.
The only potential deviation from that is a multi year overpay, which Miami can’t even afford.
Diggs would instantly be the top WR on the roster, but we are going to have 3 or 4 rookie pass catchers on the team, paired with a couple other guys who we took a flier on to see if they can outplay their previous results when offered a bigger role.
Putting Diggs in as WR at his age does nothing but stunt the growth of the rest of the room by vacuuming up snaps.
Now bring up the fact that Diggs is nobody’s idea of a mentor and would probably be a nightmare if the team started slow and/or Willis struggled.
If I had to guess – the front office is not considering this whatsoever.
StanleyDoyle1 lists Diggs greatest hits (no pun intended).
A player so talented that four teams couldn’t wait to get rid of him despite impressive on-field production. A player with a litany of paternity claims, assault allegations, and general bad-reputation vibes, heading to South Florida. What could go wrong?
Gllmiaspr believes that it would be a much more likely move if Grier were still around.
The only question Diggs answers is “Which is the only NFL WR which makes Tyreek Hill’s offseason antics look good good by comparison.”
In other words, if Grier was still around the 150 million guaranteed contract would write itself.
But I hope and believe that the new GM would say “Thanks. Maybe another time?”
MiamiItaliano believes he’s maybe KC-bound.
No, the Dolphins will not sign him. He’s going to KC. Andy Reid loves good players with sketchy off the field issues.
cyberflea believes that he’s bad for the team’s culture. <–THIS!
N…O….NO! The Dolphins are supposedly about culture, and Diggs doesn’t fit the mold. A diva that has carried a tractor trailer load of baggage to every team he has been on.
RobNJ65 is just hoping that the new regime has learned from the past regimes.
No no nono no! Do not repeat past rebuilds misrakes
That’s our random 15 for this evening. There seems to be solid consensus on this one, with no one willing to have him on our team under any circumstances. Thank you, as always, to each of you who took the time to answer our Phinsider Question Of The Day.
