Espanyol 0-2 Real Madrid (Vinícius Júnior x2). A routine win under no pressure. Here is my immediate reaction. More for you: Player ratings, the interviews and a podcast with myself and Mehedi.
Five games to go before we can forget this season, and Espanyol were up next on the fixture list. Starters included Andriy Lunin and Thiago Pitarch – whilst Eduardo Camavinga was amongst the options available from the bench. Fede Valverde captained the team.
Another one paragraph game… Some minor chances in the first half were bested by an overturned red card (correctly) for Espanyol. The second half, whilst providing a similar level of entertainment, would at least see Real Madrid secure the win. Vinicius Júnior was on hand to score twice – the first a well taken give-and-go. The second, an even better finish after some stronger combination play. Full-time, 2-0 to Real Madrid. Up next: Barcelona…
