After a nice win in the opener on Friday, the San Francisco Giants will try to win their series against the Washington Nationals today, and set themselves up for a sweep tomorrow. A series win sure would be nice. Haven’t had one of those in a while.
Taking the mound for the Giants is right-hander Adrian Houser, who makes his fourth start of the season. The 33-year old veteran is 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA, a 3.67 FIP, and 10 strikeouts against five walks in 16 innings in his first season with the Giants.
In his last start, Houser gave up four runs in 4.2 innings against the Baltimore Orioles.
For the Nationals, it’s right-hander Cade Cavalli, a 27-year old who is making his fifth start. Cavalli is 0-1 on the year, with a 4.60 ERA, a 4.38 FIP, and 13 strikeouts against 12 walks in 15.2 innings. He got rocked his last time out, giving up four runs in just 1.1 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Enjoy the game, everyone. Go Giants!
