There’s some increased clarity as to when the Texas Longhorns will face the Kentucky Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium and what channel will carry it on Monday as the conference announced the game as a six-day selection.
So the game time and channel will be solidified after Saturday’s games, but the two potential kickoff times are 6 p.m. Central or 6:30 p.m. Central with ESPN or SEC Network for the matchup on Oct. 18.
Texas travels to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry against No. 6 Oklahoma this Saturday
while Kentucky has a bye week following consecutive losses to South Carolina and Georgia, both by at least three touchdowns.
The losing streak has dropped the Wildcats to 2-3 on the season and 0-3 in conference play. After Saturday’s loss to the Gators in Gainesville, the Longhorns fell out of the AP Top 25, a remarkable development given the program’s preseason No. 1 ranking.
It’s only the third all-time meeting between the two programs and the first game between Texas and Kentucky in Lexington. The Horns hold a 2-0 edge against the Wildcats after last year’s 31-14 win in Austin.
