You always get some mixed emotions and reactions to this game every year. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Navy Midshipmen play nearly every year (Covid year notwithstanding), and no matter what you
think of playing the matchup every year, it is refreshing to play an opponent you don’t (and really, can’t) hate. And, we got another mid-fall, winter wonderland in the second half.
Once again, the overreactions were more focused on “reaction” than “over” this week, as winning by a ton will help with that. But, some overreactions this week I saw online that made me more intrigued than surprised.
Overreactions to ND vs. Navy
This, to me, was more humorous than anything. Yes, it was frustrating to have Navy run up and down the field with a backup QB and not their best player on offense. Another funny comparison that comes out when we don’t like what we see is happening on the field.
This one was more surprising, and maybe making me realize not everyone has the same feed or is online as much as I am. I feel like most everyone has been giving so much love to Jordan Faison basically the second he started playing meaningful minutes for the football team in the last few years. I think the fanbase is a huge fan of Faison, and I think he gets his flowers from everyone.
A someone outta pocket take here from Lucky Lefty. Just seems like a stretch to claim that Greathouse wouldn’t want to be in the game. There are finally weapons in the WR room at ND (we’re not used to that), but to me it just seemed like Carr was doing what he does with the great players on the field. Greathouse comes back and is going to be a factor whenever he does come back.
