Unsurprisingly after he joined Asuka* in the exclusive “vacated the NXT title to head to the main roster” club, we got rumors late last week that Oba Femi is indeed headed to Raw soon. Those came along
with one saying Femi would be given a big push on Monday nights, which isn’t at all surprising if you’ve been following the 27-year-old, 6’ 6”, 300+ pound Nigerian’s dominant run in developmental, or were tantalized by the sample you saw when he faced Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event last month.
WWE gave credence to those reports on Raw yesterday (Jan. 13), running a brief teaser video highlighting The Ruler’s power and general aura…
There was no teaser for a debut date, but given the chatter — and potential anyone with at least one working eye can see — an Oba debut at Royal Rumble would make a ton of sense.
The Rumble is one of WWE’s biggest stages of the year, and the spotlight could be brighter than ever with the 2026 edition happening in Saudi Arabia. If Triple H & team really wanted to make a statement, they could have Femi win the men’s match. We’re guessing they’ll go the route of giving him an impressive, possibly even record-tying or setting, number of eliminations — one of which will set him up for a notable mid-card WrestleMania feud.
But I’m usually wrong, so let us know in the comments below what you think about Femi’s hype video, or his main roster prospects.
