What is the story about?

Manchester United made a new signing for the academy on Thursday.

The highly-rated young midfielder Karim Cassim is now a Red after signing with United. He made the move across town after leaving Manchester City, where he helped the Blues defeat United in the FA Youth Cup Final last season.

Cassim, 17, is also experienced at the youth international level. He represented England at the U17 level.

Cassim arrives at the academy amid some turbulent times with outside attention heightened. The club saw James

Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye leave the club for Arsenal over the summer, and now there is added attention with the news that JJ Gabriel is looking to leave as well.

The Reds also signed Isaac Konde, 16, from Liverpool on Wednesday, per Andy Mitten. Konde played his way through the Liverpool ranks for more than six years before switching to the Red of Manchester this week.
