Unsurprisingly, No. 1 Michigan Hockey secured the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big Ten Tournament over Ohio State on Saturday night at Yost.
Now, the Wolverines (29-7-1) head to the Albany Region to face Bentley (23-11-5), which finished 23rd in the NPI Rankings, this Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET. ESPNU will broadcast the game.
Rounding out the region is what should be an excellent matchup between Penn State (ninth in NPI) and Minnesota-Duluth (eighth in NPI).
We could have another
Big Ten showdown on the other side of the bracket, as both No. 3 Michigan State and Wisconsin earned bids and will play in the Worcester Regional. The Spartans have a date with Connecticut, while the Badgers drew Dartmouth.
Should Michigan advance past the opening weekend, it will face the winner of the No. 4 Western Michigan/Minnesota State and Denver/Cornell Loveland Regional.
The final, Sioux Falls Regional, consists of No. 2 North Dakota/Merrimack and Providence/Quinnipiac.
