The Michigan Wolverines improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play after a 24-10 win over Wisconsin on Saturday. After playing in their fifth game of the season, quarterback Bryce Underwood, wide
receiver Andrew Marsh and cornerback Jayden Sanders all officially burned their redshirts, making them the first Wolverines to do so this season.

Underwood continues to improve this season. He completed 19-of-28 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown, and didn’t throw any interceptions. He did take one sack, but still managed to pick up 12 rushing yards. His legs didn’t factor into this one much, but given Wisconsin’s strength on defense, it’s important he was able to succeed through the air.
If it hadn’t been for Donaven McCulley’s big day, freshman wide receiver Andrew Marsh would have had all the attention. He still managed to reel in four catches for 80 yards, including one impressive catch near the sideline.
On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback Jayden Sanders had two tackles, and cornerback Elijah Dotson registered one. While safety Jordan Young and cornerback Shamari Earls saw the field, they didn’t account for any meaningful stats. Defensive lineman Benny Patterson only saw the field on special teams, as did linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, who got into his first game of the season.
The Wolverines have a tough road test coming up against USC next weekend (7:30 p.m., NBC)
