What is the story about?
Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, but it is also a day to remember and honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. Originally called “Decoration Day” to honor the fallen during the Civil War, President Lyndon Johnson made it an official holiday beginning in 1971 to include memorials to veterans of all wars. We’re grateful for their sacrifice and mindful of the families carrying that loss today.
Here are a few Memorial Day discussion questions for today.
- Did you serve? What is the military history in your family?
- Do you have a favorite war-related movie?
- What is the percent of hope you have left in the season for the Royals?
- If you could snap your fingers and make one change in the Royals organization, what would it be?
