The Los Angeles Rams continue to lose players to injury, this time ruling out starting safety Kam Kinchens with a hamstring injury for Monday night’s game against the New York Giants. It is the first career missed game for Kinchens, a player with six interceptions in 35 games.
The Rams listed Puka Nacua as questionable on the final injury report, while fellow receiver Jordan Whittington is doubtful. After just placing Myles Garrett on IR, the Rams are down two starters on defense. In the interim,
it appears Tanner Ingle, who was just elevated to the 53-man roster last week, and Jaylen McCollough will need to step up at safety. L.A. could also elevate Nick Andersen from the practice squad.
On offense, the loss of Nacua would be a brutal blow for Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford, but the hits keep on coming with Whittington probably ruled out. Few players ever play after being listed as doubtful.
In that case, the Rams would be leaning heavily on Davante Adams, Konata Mumpfield, and their tight ends. Not to mention the running game. Tutu Atwell and C.J. Daniels were inactive last week, so they could both be on the active roster on Monday if both Nacua and Whittington are ruled out. It looks as though Nacua is a game-day decision.
At least the Rams are expected to get back Aaron Donald, although they wish his return was coupled with better news on the injury front.
