Milan Momcilovic became the most popular name in the BBN over the last week as we awaited his commitment announcement after he withdrew from the NBA Draft. With that coming late on Monday night, now the sharpshooting forward will play college basketball in Lexington next season.
Since he withdrew from the draft, the connection to Kentucky has been ideal, as Mark Pope has frequently talked about wanting to put up 30 3s a game. Well, with Momcilovic in the fold, that number seems rather attainable.
We all think he was a perfect fit, and so does Malachi Moreno. When asked about the fit at a Great Crossing Basketball camp by Nick Lazaroff of BBN Tonight, here is what the star center had to say;
“(Momcilovic is) a shooter. Best shooter in the country last year. We knew we needed it, and he fits Pope’s offense perfectly. We’re gonna be dangerous.”
The momentum in the fanbase has completely shifted. Now we just have to wait and see how this team gels on the court. Should be fun to see some summer workout videos soon.
