Kentucky Basketball has set up another official visit with a highly ranked high school prospect.
Class of 2027 5-star point guard Nasir Anderson has scheduled an official visit to Kentucky for Oct. 5, just a couple of days after Big Blue Madness.
Anderson, who announced his top 10 schools last Monday, has also added USC to his visit schedule despite the Trojans not being included in his top 10. So far, he has scheduled eight official visits:
- Providence: Sept. 4
- Virginia: Sept. 11
- Syracuse: Sept. 19
- USC: Sept. 24
- Kentucky: Oct. 5
- Georgia: Oct. 9
- Tennessee: Oct. 15
- North Carolina: Oct. 30
The only schools from his top 10 that Anderson has yet to schedule
a visit with are UConn, Indiana, and Florida.
Anderson is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and plays for Prolific Prep. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Anderson is ranked No. 9 nationally, No. 4 among point guards, and No. 5 in the state of Florida.
While Kentucky is not considered the favorite in Anderson’s recruitment at this point, making his top 10 is still notable for Mark Pope and his staff as they continue to pursue some of the nation’s best talent.
Anderson is the type of guard who plays physically and downhill, using his strength and size to attack the basket. He has a powerful upper body, long arms, and the ability to absorb contact while getting to the rim, making him especially dangerous in transition.
His playmaking has also continued to develop. Anderson has shown an improved ability to read the floor and create opportunities for his teammates.
There are still areas of his game that Anderson will need to improve, particularly his decision-making and shooting with his right hand. He can sometimes struggle with his shot mechanics while moving toward the basket, and he often returns to his dominant left hand when attacking.
Defensively, Anderson has the physical tools to become an impact player. He is also a strong rebounding guard who uses his size and athleticism well.
Health and durability will be worth monitoring, as Anderson suffered an injury that ended his summer season early. However, he hopes to be fully healthy by the time the fall arrives.
