Florida International defensive tackle Xion Chapman has committed to transferring to Minnesota. He finished the season with 15 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, one pass break-up, and one forced
fumble.
Chapman has two years of eligibility remaining.
This is another critical addition for the Golden Gophers at a position of need for next season. Minnesota’s top four defensive tackles from this season are all out of eligibility, so they need Chapman and Marshall defensive tackle Jaquan Crowder to come in and raise the floor immediately. Redshirt freshmen Jaylin Hicks and Riley Sunram are the only other defensive tackles on the roster who saw the field this year.
