It’s finally time, Rumblers — the 2026 NFL Draft is here! Okay, sure most Buffalo Bills fans understand that enthusiasm can only reach so high when the team constantly picks near the end of Round 1. But there’s trade potential to focus on, not to mention watching to see how the board shapes up as it relates to potential prospects for Buffalo.
The pre-draft process is officially over. We here at Buffalo Rumblings have accounted for every known visit One Bills Drive has conducted in one fashion or another.
We’ve debated the best moves for Buffalo to make, and we’ve admitted that a lot of it remains unknown with a regime change and a new defensive system being installed.
The big question for the Bills is whether the team stays put at slot 26 to make its first pick. Many have called for Buffalo moving back in the draft, ideally out of Round 1 altogether. That’s a move that would likely see the Bills try to leverage a jump back to the early portion of Round 2. However there’s a new wrinkle that president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane may need to consider.
In the hours preceding the start of the draft, there were more reports centered around wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and the Jacksonville Jaguars. For quite some time now, it’s been a bit of a Michael Scott “snip-snap” back-and-forth regarding Jacksonville’s willingness to trade Thomas. Where they’re connected to such trade talk has followed reports that they have no interest in doing so.
So where things stand now are at least interesting. The Jaguars top pick is the 24th selection in Round 2. Reports have stated that Jacksonville is looking to move up into Round 1, and that the team is willing to include Thomas as part of any deal sweetener.
Would Beane pull the lever on a move back so far in order to pair Thomas with Josh Allen? Anything’s possible, but it may be a challenge finding a prospect in this year’s draft who can impact the game the way BTJ is capable!
Get used to hearing a lot from the New York Jets, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, and Dallas Cowboys as each franchise has multiple picks in Round 1. Interestingly, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has chosen this evening as the perfect time to address his off-field/personal cheating scandal.
With that, here’s your open thread for all of tonight’s action during Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
