In the Jets’ preseason finale against the New York Giants, rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik’s stat line was ugly. The Clemson product finished the night 6 of 13 passing for 59 yards and an interception.
How accurate was the stat line?
Through the first two weeks of the 2026 preseason, I have done a video breakdown of Klubnik’s performance. Today we complete the trilogy.
My end conclusion is that Klubnik’s night was not as bad as the raw statistics would suggest. The infrastructure around him was genuinely
bad, and that impacted him. With that said, Klubnik made some pretty glaring errors, most notably an interception that was his fault.
In totality, I think that Klubnik’s preseason performance across three games was solid when graded on the curve of the standard fourth round rookie. I also think he still has a lot of development to do, and it would be best for the Jets to not put him on the field for regular season games at this point.
You can what you think of Klubnik’s performance for yourself. The video is below for your viewing pleasure.
