LAS VEGAS — Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are almost ready to fight.
On Saturday, Alvarez puts his undisputed super middleweight title on the line against Crawford in a highly anticipated superfight at Allegiant Stadium, broadcast live on Netflix. The bout pits Alvarez, the biggest star in boxing, against Crawford, one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, with Crawford looking to make history by becoming the first man to win undisputed titles in three divisions in the four-belt
era of boxing (Claressa Shields accomplished this feat in women’s boxing).
On Thursday, the two met for the pre-fight press conference, where both men kept things respectful, collectively celebrating the sport and the opportunity for both of them. That respect carried over for their first fight week faceoff as the two had no issues, shaking hands and embracing as before posing for photographs.
