There is great excitement about how the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense can improve this season under the guidance of new head coach and offensive playcaller Klint Kubiak.
He has earned a great reputation as a top offensive mind in the league. However, don’t expect the Raiders’ offense to be among the fastest-paces units in the league this season, based on last season, at least.
According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Seattle Seahawks, where Kubiak was the offensive coordinator last season, had the sixth
slowest offense last year at a rate of 36.0 seconds per play based on the first three quarters of the game excluding the final two minutes of the first half. Here is the full list.
What does it all mean? Well, I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Whatever works for Kubiak obviously translates to success. So, fast or slow paced doesn’t matter as long as he improves the Raiders’ offense.
