Harry Kane has revealed that a move to LaLiga was a possibility at earlier points in his career, though he noted that no concrete opportunities ever materialized.
Asked whether he could have played in Spain, Kane confirmed to Marca that it had been a real possibility.
“There were moments when it could have happened. I wouldn’t say there were any clear opportunities, but there were some conversations in the past. I have a lot of respect for LaLiga. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético are some of the biggest
clubs in the world. I grew up watching Ronaldo and Messi. I have tremendous respect for those teams. As we know, anything can happen in football. I never rule anything out, but for now, as I’ve said before, I’m extremely happy in Germany,” Kane said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The comments will inevitably have Bayern Munich fans wondering whether Spain could eventually become part of Kane’s story.
The England captain has never hidden his admiration for Spanish football, and his memories of watching Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi highlight the impact LaLiga had on his generation.
The most intriguing line, however, remains: “I never rule anything out.”
Kane was quick to emphasize that he is extremely happy in Germany, and there is currently no indication he is looking to leave Bayern. Still, at 33, the prospect of a future move to one of Spain’s giants remains a compelling storyline.
Could Kane eventually add Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Atlético Madrid to his resume?
For now (and maybe through 2029), Bayern Munich remains home. But Kane has made one thing clear — he is not completely closing the door on LaLiga for the future.
