Women’s Lacrosse (11-3)
The women’s lacrosse team put their three-game losing streak to rest with a dominant 18-9 win over Ohio State followed by a 19-9 rout over Oregon. Kelly MacKinney’s seven goals powered the Nittany Lions past Ohio State on the road. Penn State controlled the middle 30 minutes of the game, outscoring the Buckeyes 9-3 in the second and third quarters.
Five goals from Rocquette Allen, four goals from Kelly MacKinney, and hat tricks from Erika Ho and Delaney Radin led Penn State past Oregon. The depth
scoring was not quite as apparent as it has been this season for Penn State, but the Nittany Lions dominated the Ducks at home to move to 11-3 on the season.
Penn State will host Northwestern on Sunday (11am on Big Ten Plus) and Johns Hopkins on Thursday (6pm on BTN).
Men’s Lacrosse (6-4)
Chase Robertson and Michael Faraone scored twice for Penn State, but the Nittany Lions blew a 9-4 second half lead in an 11-10 loss to Johns Hopkins on Saturday. The Nittany Lions went scoreless for 24 minutes in the second half to lose control of the game. Penn State suffered its first Big Ten loss of the season.
Penn State will look to rebound at home against Michigan tomorrow (1pm on Big Ten Plus).
Men’s Volleyball (16-7)
The men’s volleyball team rolled their win streak to five with consecutive 3-0 sweeps over Charleston. Charleston kept the matches close, but double-digit kill efforts from Sean Harvey (16) and Matthew Luoma (15) powered the Nittany Lions past Charleston to stay undefeated in conference play.
Penn State will hit the road to take on Sacred Heart tonight (7pm on ESPN+) and Saturday (3pm on ESPN+)
Baseball (9-21)
Nebraska swept Penn State in the three-game series over the weekend, turning in 8-7, 13-1, and 8-6 wins over the Nittany Lions. Penn State beat Fairleigh Dickinson 11-5 on Dollar Dog Night, led by two RBI each from Bryce Molinaro, Jayden Davis, and Spencer Barnett. The rebound win was nice, but Penn State is 3-9 in Big Ten play and 2-12 away from State College.
Penn State will face Ohio State on the road for a three-game series this weekend (Friday at 2pm, Saturday at 3pm, Sunday at 1pm). All three games will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus. The Nittany Lions will later face West Virginia on Wednesday (6pm).
Softball (26-12)
The softball team improved their Big Ten and NCAA Tournament standing with a three-game sweep over Maryland. Two home runs by Breanna Hanik and an eight-run third inning powered Penn State to a 13-5 win in Game 1. In Game 2, the Nittany Lions scored 13 runs in the fourth inning after trailing 4-3 to roll to a 16-4 win in five innings. Brooke Klosowicz provided the only scoring in Game 3 with a two-run walk-off home run in the seventh inning to secure the sweep.
Penn State will host Northwestern for a three-game series this weekend (Friday at 5pm, Saturday at 2pm, Sunday at 11am). The Nittany Lions will then host Bucknell on Tuesday at 6pm. All four games will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
