Now 5-0, Florida State softball looks to continue their win streak with their first midweek of the season. They will host the Liberty Flames, before they head down to Clearwater for a tough weekend slate.
Liberty Last Season
It was a historic season for the Flames, as they capped off a 50-15 season with a trip to Super Regionals. In route to the Eugene Supers, they knocked off No. 1 Texas A&M in College Station.
Flames in 2026
Despite their historic season in 2025, the current day Flames are struggling. To open their season, they went
winless in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic. They took losses to ranked Tennessee, Clemson, Oregon as well as Notre Dame and Missouri. Only one of their losses came via a run rule. They were also outscored 43-10.
Liberty is also without their top three hitters from last year, losing the group to graduation. In the circle, they lose nearly 300 innings pitched last season, as Paige Bachman and Elena Escobar graduated from the program as well.
They do return Savannah Whatley from injury, and retain Paige Doerr and Brynn McManus.
