While Tyson Fury is widely expected to return to the ring in 2026, “The Gypsy King” hasn’t officially come out of retirement yet … and he’s still looking like a man who’s enjoyed all the food and relaxation that not competing has allowed him.
Fury retired from the sport in January 2025 after suffering back to back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, and while he’s talked some smack and teased some returns, he’s still officially retired. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. Behind the scenes, Saudi power broker
Turki Alalshikh has been working on at least two more fights for Fury: a warm-up bout followed by the long awaited Anthony Joshua superfight in the fall.
It’s obviously too soon to know how plans are changing due to Anthony Joshua’s recent car accident, but we now have footage of Fury in Thailand doing some light sparring and bag work.
In the full training footage, Fury is looking good with his striking, footwork, and movement. But the clip above shows a shirtless Tyson throwing hooks on a heavy bag. His belly, which was never completely gone even when he was in fighting shape, sways hypnotically as he works away. The man has clearly been enjoying life.
Let he who did not put a few extra pounds on over Christmas holidays throw the first stone!
Between the leaked 2026 fight schedule and Fury’s return to training, all we have to wait for now is the official announcement that “The Gypsy King” is back. We’re sure the weight will melt right off as he turns up the heat in the gym.
