With the NFL trade deadline fast approaching, fans’ eyes are turning toward potential upgrades the Green Bay Packers could make to bolster their team for a (hopefully) deep run.
One of the obvious areas of weakness this year is the cornerback position. Nate Hobbs’ play at outside corner through seven games leaves a lot to be desired. Specifically, fans desire a different player. In Hobbs’ defense, there’s talk that he’s being played out of position — the thinking being that he’s much more suited for
the slot.
Meanwhile, the offensive backfield appears to be an area where the Packers are actually actively poking around.
Sources indicate Green Bay has made calls to the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, and Miami Dolphins to probe interest and price for running backs.
Where do you stand? Should the Packers bring in a new corner? What about playing the good one they already have (cough Carrington Valentine cough)? Is it worth it to trade for a new number two running back? Drop your perspective in the comments.
