One day before Tottenham Hotspur traveled to Norway for the Champions League, Spurs manager Thomas Frank dropped a minor bombshell that striker Dominic Solanke was set to undergo “minor surgery” to correct a lingering ankle problem the England international has been dealing with since the start of the season.
Today, that procedure has been completed and has apparently been successful. Solanke posted on his Instagram stories that he’s been as frustrated as the Tottenham fans over his absence, but that he hopes
now that the surgery has been completed he will be back on the pitch soon.

Hi everyone, quick update about my current situation.
The last few months have been very frustrating as I’ve tried everything possible to try and push through my ankle issue before taking the option of surgery.
None of this managed to solve the problem, so we had to go ahead with minor surgery which I underwent this morning. It was all successful so hopefully I’ll be back on the pitch in the very near future!
Thank you all for your love and messages.
Dom’s message doesn’t go into detail about the nature of the surgery [stares at Dejan Kulusevski] but he does make it sound as though the decision to try everything before undergoing surgery was as much Dom’s as it was the medical staff. With the caveat that there’s usually no such thing as “minor surgery,” it does sound like whatever procedure he underwent will take a short recovery time and hopefully will fix the problem.
Maybe they infused his bones with adamantium? That’d be rad.
