One of the best rivalries in college sports but I hope Mizzou wins by 100.
Maybe even that won’t be enough to satiate me. I like when the Tigers win, and the more they win by the better.
The one thing I’m very tired of though is the discourse. Which is why this game kick off can’t get here soon enough. Enter Stryker:

Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+
Wow we posted a lot yesterday. I guess it’s officially fall sports season! We had golf, women’s basketball, and football football football. So
let’s start with the Golfin’ ladies since they had a solid day at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate:
Senior Fleur van Beek led the Tigers with a +4 total, shooting 73-72-75 to tie for 29th.
Following van Beek, junior Alexandra Berglund shot 77-74-74 for a +9 total. She tied for 40th.
Freshman Page Bowman and sophomore transfer Grace Crawford both tied for 45th, each totaling +12 across the three rounds. Bowman shot 75-79-74 and Crawford shot 76-79-73. This was their first competition representing Mizzou.
The event was held in Minnesota against some pretty elite competition, so it’s a good start to the season.
- Women’s Basketball released their full non-conference schedule and Jack had the breakdown:
Missouri has released the non-conference slate for the 2026-27 season. It’s a mix that will look familiar to Mizzou fans: a heavy dose of home games against mid-major competition, a neutral-site multi-team event in Daytona Beach, a true road trip to Little Rock and a marquee ACC/SEC Challenge date at Florida State. The Tigers open with an October 29 exhibition against Lincoln and play 16 non-conference games before SEC play tips off against Mississippi State on December 31.
It’s not the toughest schedule, but Kellie Harper is still getting the program going. And when you’re doing that, you go light in the Non-con. The SEC Schedule is tough enough, do what you can to collect some wins early.

Did you know Mizzou plays at Kansas tonight? Well if you didn’t we had plenty to talk about yesterday, starting with Nathan’s take that Mizzou should prioritize playing KU in footballabove all other sports:
From a completely selfish Mizzou perspective, there is another benefit: the Tigers are better positioned to compete with kansas on a regular basis in football than they are in basketball. That is not meant as a slight toward Dennis Gates or the basketball program. College basketball is simply a sport where kansas has established an enormous competitive advantage over Mizzou and virtually everyone else, first through decades of blatant cheating and scandal, and now through an established brand and funding advantage thanks to the prior decades of blatant cheating and scandal.
My response is simple: all sports should be prioritized. I’m big on regionality in scheduling, and if for no other reason Mizzou should play KU in every sport they can because they’re close. With that said, Football is the single most difficult sport to schedule in because there are so few open slots. Mizzou is in the SEC, where they’re moving to a 9 game schedule and with only three other spots. I would prioritize making sure KU is on the schedule before most teams, but I also recognize the need for Mizzou to make sure they have home games in their non-conference.
- Josh thinks Mizzou should be more dominant in the series:
If Mizzou wants to get to a point where they’re talked about with the best programs in the country, they need to start carrying that level of expectation into every Border War game. Mizzou is better equipped than kansas. They have more investment than kansas. More talent than kansas. A bigger following than kansas. A better stadium than kansas. In every measurable metric for success in college football, Mizzou has the advantage. And the rivalry needs to reflect that moving forward.
One way to make sure KU doesn’t want to schedule you in football is to make it impossible to beat you. lol Mizzou Football IS ahead of the Jayhawks, but they’re not that far ahead either. KU is trying, and Leipold is a good coach. But they’re also anchored by the basketball program more than other schools.
- Did you ever wonder what the KU side thinks about this matchup, this season? Well you’re in luck:
KU is pretty clearly better at most positions than it was last year, with running back, defensive end and linebacker standing out as particular areas of improvement, but it’s hard at this early stage to have much confidence in a young team with an unproven starting quarterback. It’s also quite possible that this group could be more potent than the 2025 squad and end up with a similar record because of the schedule itself — not so much the opponents the Jayhawks will have to face, but the way it all lays out.
Not gonna lie, the only thing I really know about KU is from Nate’s previews.
- The Mizzou running game had some ups and downs against UAPB, without Cayden Green, but to beat KU they’ll need to stabilize. Matthew G. has the report:
Mizzou put up 94 rushing yards in the first half with its starters in the game, a number that seems fairly typical when viewed in isolation. But the Tigers lacked explosive runs and the offensive line was unable to get much push despite having the clear size and talent advantage.
“I guess the best way to describe it is loose on the offensive line and tight ends in our identification,” Drinkwitz said after the game, “And those things are going to have to get fixed in a hurry if we want to be able to run the ball with the effectiveness that we know we need to, so we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
I think this is maybe the thing I’m most interested in tonight. Green returning should be a boost, but they’re going to need some more explosives.
Meanwhile Sammy is staying on top of the race for the CFP, and the SEC stays perfect.
