The Guardians lost to Detroit 4-2, understandably losing 1 of 6 games against a good team. They now welcome the Texas Rangers to town needing any combination of two wins or Astros’ losses to win the third wildcard and three wins or Tigers’ losses to win the AL Central.
I saw some Guardians’ fans wondering if the team had jinxed themselves by announcing postseason tickets presales starting tomorrow. Folks, every baseball team with a decent shot has made that announcement. They can’t all wait until
Sunday afternoon to sell all those tickets.
I’m too anxious to type much more. Let’s get back on that field and take care of business.
AROUND MLB:
I kinda hate that the Rangers lost AGAIN because it seems like that has to turn around at some point, but they are officially out of playoff contention. The Red Sox losing was big because their magic number remains 1, so they will still be playing Detroit hard for at least one game. Then, however, they may field a hangover lineup. The Astros beat the A’s, and I don’t think you can rely on them losing a game to the Angels, so Cleveland is going to have to earn this. Which is what they’ve been doing.
