Zac Taylor said that Landon Robinson was just too talented to pass up in the seventh round for the Cincinnati Bengals on draft day. My expectation is that he will also be too talented to keep off the final 53-man roster. He was front and center soaking in coaching throughout OTAs.

Overview
Landon Robinson
was a multi-sport athlete all of his life. At Copley High School, he lettered in football, track, baseball, and wrestling. He earned all-state honors as a senior playing at linebacker. Just a two-star recruit out of high school, he received an offer from Navy just prior to signing day, where he ultimately signed.
Entering the Naval Academy at just 240 pounds, he bulked up to move from linebacker to defensive tackle. While he is considered to be undersized, he is one of the strongest players from his draft class. A multi-year member of the Feldman Freak List, being able to squat 665 pounds, bench press 465 pounds, and power clean 350 pounds.
He also possesses special movement skills for an almost 300-pound defensive tackle. He ran a 4.86 40-yard dash on his pro day. Also, posting a 32 1/2 inch vertical jump. That type of athleticism is what helped him get selected on day three of the NFL Draft this year. While he joins a crowded defensive tackle room, the Bengals used a draft selection on him for a reason. Jerry Montgomery coached him at the Shrine Bowl, and Zac Taylor has also praised the type of talent and work ethic Landon has.
Outlook for 2026 and Beyond
Robinson joins a very crowded defensive tackle room. His first order of business will be making the 53-man roster out of training camp. If he can do so, he could get on the field in a rotational pass-rushing role after recording 6.5 sacks during the 2025 season at Navy. If he does not make the initial 53-man roster (which would be a surprise), the Bengals would love to get him on their practice squad this season.
Robinson is a player who has shown he will outwork most expectations that are placed upon him. From a lightly recruited linebacker prospect to an NFL draft selection. I will not be the one to bet against him. Robinson could end up enjoying a long and successful career at defensive tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals. His dad, Lance, a lifelong Bengals fan, would love nothing more.
