The Seattle Seahawks are preparing to do something they haven’t done in 318 days: play a snap of football with Tory Horton on the field.
That’s after the second-year wideout was a full participant in the Seahawks’ Wednesday practice ahead of their game against NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals. Horton hasn’t played for Seattle since Week 9 of last season, when he went down with a tibia fracture and missed the team’s 2026 opener with a hamstring injury he suffered in training camp.
The Colorado State
grad should add more speed to the Seahawks offense, which will be run by backup quarterback Drew Lock. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold’s recovery from his mysterious glute injury continues, but he did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
The other notable tidbit in the release was news about Seahawks star Nick Emmanwori. The safety was again limited in practice on Wednesday with an ankle and a new hip injury. Emmanwori missed the team’s preseason and opener after having surgery on his ankle in July, but was questionable to play last week.
The team could use their Swiss-army-knife back, as it appears they’ll continue to be without safety Ty Okada as well, after he did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Mike Macdonald did say Okada had a chance to return on Sunday, but we’ll see about his hamstring on Thursday. The Seahawks’ second wideout Cooper Kupp was limited in practice as well with a back injury, that will be one to keep an eye on.
Here in the full report:
With two days left before the team needs to make an official game status, the health of Emmanwori may be critical against a Cardinals team fresh off an upset victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Kickoff for the Seahawks game is set for this Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PDT.
