It’s that time of the week again. Grab some pizza as we enjoy this week’s cob nominations.
Florida State
The Seminoles marched into Charlottesville with their bows and arrows but the Virginia Cavaliers defended well with their swords and stayed ‘en garde’ to pull a shocking upset on Friday.
I’ve never seen a faster field storming.
Oregon State
I almost feel bad for putting the Beavers on here but they were leading by 14 points halfway through the 4th quarter and completely blew it and lost in overtime.
Pittsburgh
The Panthers choked again. This time they blew a 17-point lead against Miller Moss and Louisville. Going 1 for 10 on 3rd downs is really bad too.
Georgia Cornerback Ellis Robinson IV
Leaping into a dogpile and targeting someone with your helmet gets you a personal foul penalty and was the final nail in the coffin for Georgia in their home loss to Alabama.
Kirk Ferentz
On the final drive on the game with 1:28 remaining, Ferentz and Iowa have all three of their timeouts left. Then they proceed to use none of them on that drive. However, Ferentz decided to petty, annoying sore loser and use all three timeouts after the Indiana QB kneels. Eventually the game eventually ends but not before Mendoza runs all the way back to kneel in the end zone and upset everyone who bet on Indiana to cover the spread of -6.5 points.
Big Ten Refs
They had a banner week. First blunder was this “roughing the passer” call against Washington.
Then this blatant targeting call against Penn State was reviewed and determined it was not targeting.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
What is happening here? Such bizarre behavior by the Pitt players.
Announcers completely messed up with the call.
This Kentucky wide receiver decided to celebrate his touchdown by hurling the football straight at the opposing fans.
We have a satisfying selection of cob nominations for Week 5 of College Football but unfortunately you can only pick one.
BONUS
Philly/Irish special fake punt.
This is beautiful! What college football is all about.
BIG MAN TOUCHDOWN!
This is one way to assert dominance.
Crucial catch in crunch time. But in the end, it didn’t really matter.
Clever trick play.
Last but not least…
