The LFP’s Disciplinary Committee has handed Endrick a one-match suspension following his dismissal against Nantes last weekend. The initial straight red card has been overturned and replaced with a second yellow, avoiding a potential one- to three-match ban for unsportsmanlike conduct.
After reviewing the footage and the referee’s report — which recommended rescinding the red — the committee ruled that the incident warranted two yellows rather than a direct sending-off. As a result, Endrick will miss
Sunday’s match against Nice but will be available again on February 22 against Strasbourg.
The incident occurred in the 52nd minute, when the Brazilian reacted instinctively after a heavy challenge from Nantes defender Tabibou. VAR alerted the referee, who showed a straight red despite Endrick already being on a booking.
Lyon had appealed for stronger protection for the 18-year-old, arguing he has been targeted since arriving in Ligue 1. Head coach Paulo Fonseca publicly defended the striker, who has enjoyed an explosive start in France with six goals in six appearances before the suspension.
While Lyon avoid a longer absence, the decision leaves mixed feelings at the club.
