Injury FC strikes again.
Bayern Munich had seemingly an excellent start to 2026 with two emphatic wins — a 5-0 win in a friendly against RB Salzburg and a shocking 8-1 home win against VfL Wolfsburg in the
Bundesliga.
It was all good, until an injury came in.
In the home win against Wolfsburg, Josip Stanišić taken a knock to his ankle, and though he attempted to play through it, he could not do so and went off the game without having someone else take his place.
This injury was later diagnosed to be a capsular ligament injury in his right ankle by the Bayern medical team, per @iMiaSanMia.
Further, according to BILD, depending on the recovery process, he is expected to be out for three weeks.
Though this news comes in following the return of both Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito, this still remains a difficult situation for the club, who now have lost someone at both left-back and right-back.
