Jan Virgili sent a beautiful farewell message to Barcelona fans after his departure to Mallorca was officially confirmed on Thursday.
Virgili, who has joined Mallorca on a deal worth €3.5 million, got his wish of playing first division football after playing a sensational season for Barça’s youth teams last year, and the 19-year-old winger took to social media to send a beautiful message of gratitude to the club:
“Hola, culers!
A memory that will remain engraved with me for
the rest of my life: wearing the Barça shirt, a dream that, even today, I still find it hard to believe.
Thanks to all the people who have made this stage so special and important for my growth as a football player and as a person.
It was short but intense, and I couldn’t be happier for myself and my family.
Thank you very much, Barça, I will never stop loving these colors. See you soon!”
That’s some lovely stuff, and Barça fans should really pay attention to Virgili’s development. If he reaches his sky-high potential, the Catalans have a chance to bring him back for cheap, and it might turn out to be a pretty good deal for a pretty good player in a few years.
Virgili has already been called up to Mallorca’s squad and could make his debut on Saturday against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
