Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Football
34 carries for 222 rushing yards and two touchdowns? Yeah, that’s certainly worthy of a weekly conference award.
The SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week goes to Mizzou running back Jamal Roberts (sharing with South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers).
On MUTigers.com:
Roberts became the first Mizzou player in program history to stack together
back-to-back 200-yard rushing performances in addition to becoming just the third SEC running back in the past 20 seasons to do so, joining Derrick Henry (Alabama) and Leonard Fournette (LSU) who both accomplished the feat in 2015.
Through six games this season, Roberts currently leads the SEC with 828 rushing yards — which is good for second nationally.
Another big day could be in store for Roberts on Saturday afternoon in Oxford — as Ole Miss ranks last in the SEC in rushing defense.

- Morning Commute from Josh Matejka: Dennis Gates: Mizzou “as patient as we can be” with Mitchell’s eligibility
Let me give you a piece of advice: be patient like Dennis Gates. The situation will resolve itself in time, so don’t drive yourself crazy trying to sort it out.
I think we’ll see CJ Gunn and Mark Mitchell eligible this season. Just be patient.
- MV3 from me: Jamal Roberts has career day in Mizzou’s 27-6 win over Texas A&M
He becomes the first Mizzou player to have back-to-back games of 200-plus rushing yards.
Jamal Roberts is in Mizzou Football history books with a statement performance.
- First Serve from Aaron Segal: Mizzou finds its fight in five-set win over Auburn ahead of Mississippi State matchup
After dropping three straight matches, Mizzou bounced back Sunday at Hearnes Center, defeating Auburn in five sets to improve to 9-8 overall and 2-3 in SEC play. The Tigers will look to build on that momentum Wednesday when they host Mississippi State.
A much-needed win for Mizzou Volleyball over Auburn.
