Barcelona are reportedly in talks to play a lucrative friendly match in Peru in December which could provide the club with a financial boost.
Mundo Deportivo reports Barça have been offered around €7-8
million to play the game in South America, an amount the club feels is “difficult to refuse.”
The report claims that Barcelona are even more interested after seeing their La Liga fixture against Villarreal in Miami postponed, resulting in lost revenue for the club.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has apparently told the players and the coaching staff about the plan to play the game in Peru just before Christmas.
If the game does go ahead it won’t be the first time that Barca have jetted off in December. They played Mexican side Club America in a friendly in the United States in December 2023.
There’s no date yet for the match, but it’s thought it will be played after Barca’s final game of 2025.
