According to the daily NFL Transactions report, the Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Jimmy Holiday to the practice squad, reintroducing him to the organization after he was released a week ago. Holiday spent the offseason with the Chiefs before shifting to the practice squad at the preseason’s conclusion. He remained on the reserve team until this weeklong back and forth.
Holiday was originally signed by Kansas City after standing out as a tryout at rookie minicamp. He was an undrafted free
agent in the 2025 NFL Draft class after five collegiate seasons at three different schools. He was initially recruited by the University of Tennessee as a three-star, dual-threat quarterback recruit and transitioned to wide receiver immediately.
After three uneventful seasons with the Volunteers, Holiday transferred to Western Kentucky for the 2023 season, then finished at Louisana Tech last season with a career year: 658 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns over 39 catches and 48 rushes.
The stat line shows Holiday is more than a traditional receiver. He is an interesting player to monitor on the Chiefs’ practice squad moving forward.
