The Cleveland Browns signed safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren on Thursday, meaning that nine of their 10 selections in the 2026 NFL Draft are now under contract.
The lone unsigned draft pick is wide receiver KC Concepcion, one of the team’s two first-round selections.
Cleveland selected McNeil-Warren with the No. 58 overall selection after trading back into the second round of the draft. While terms of the contract have not been made public, the deal is likely a four-year contract worth around $8.35 million,
according to the rookie wage scale at spotrac.com.
The 6-foot-3, 203-pound McNeil-Warren was a three-year starter at Toledo, known for his elite ball skills and knack for playmaking around the box, according to media reports prior to the draft. He also finished his final year with the Rockets at the No. 2-ranked safety by Pro Football Focus.
Despite being known for his effectiveness in keeping the game in front of him in the passing game and when stopping the run, he’s also shown the ability to be productive as a deep center-fielder between the 20s as well. He’s a very cerebral player and does a good job of reading the quarterback’s eyes and shoulders, which allows him to consistently stay in an advantageous position downfield more often than not.
McNeil-Warren is expected to find a role in defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg’s defense, along with incumbents Grant Delpit and Ronnie Hickman, as more teams are starting to play three safeties on defense.
