He’s not the King of the Ring finalist many WWE fans wanted, at least online. Maybe he’s the one we need. Either way, he’s the one we’re getting.
As many suspected from pretty much the moment Seth Rollins lost his first round 4way in the King of the Ring tournament, Jey Uso punched his ticket to a Night of Champions
showdown with Oba Femi for the crown… and the World title shot for SummerSlam that would come along with it.How did he defeat Je’Von Evans in the semis on the Juneteenth SmackDown? In
what I’d describe as a strong match, and a bit of a war between the Young O.G. and the former World Heavyweight champ he irritated by calling “Unc” in an earlier backstage segment.
Evans countered a spear attempt with a superkick, but Uso crotched him when he went for an OG Cutter follow-up. That allowed Jey to hit the spear and a splash to advance to face Oba Femi at next Saturday’s premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
He told you. Ask him, he’ll tell you again.
Will Oba’s rise continue in the finals? Or will Uso punch his ticket to SummerSlam, possibly thanks to Brock Lesnar’s return in Riyadh to set up a trilogy fight with Femi in Minnesota?
