Reacts Survey Results: Will the Jaguars trade for a defensive lineman?

This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans which position the team should target at the trade deadline.

Over half of the respondents chose defensive line, and about a third chose pass-catcher or offensive

line. Only 2% of voters don’t want the Jaguars to make a move at the deadline.

The front office may agree with the fanbase, based on recent rumors surrounding the team. “The Jaguars are in need of a defensive lineman,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz said on his podcast. “The Jaguars are looking for a defensive tackle,” NFL insider Dianna Russini wrote for The Athletic.

Arik Armstead and Maason Smith have flashed at times, but Jacksonville has lacked a formidable interior pass rush for several seasons. Even an acquisition of a run-stuffing DT could lead to more 3rd-and-longs (i.e., more advantageous pass rush situations).

It seems that a defensive lineman is the most likely position to be added in the next 48 hours.

As for the confidence survey, 83% of fans are confident in the direction of the team — up from 78% last week.

The Jaguars lost two straight games to teams with great defensive lines & defensive coordinators, but they should be able to take care of business in Las Vegas today. The Raiders rank bottom 10 in pressure rate (18.9%) and points per game allowed (25.7) this season.

Since offense is more pro-active than defense, I put pass catcher as we desperately need someone to fill the holes left by Engram and Strange in the middle of the field.

But I saw there being a report that the Jets had an asking price of a 2nd rounder for Quinnen Williams, and pass rushing DT might be a weak point in this upcoming draft as well as a sore spot on several Jags rosters.

Do we really still have writers blaming all of Trevor’s faults on somebody else… After 4+ yrs of inconsistent and below average QB play ?

Maybe if Trevor could hit a guy in stride or lead a receiver into an opportunity for YAC our WR might do a little better.

Instead of 10 ft over their heads, behind them or at their feet.

Trevor absolutely RUINED BTJ.

BTJ has ZERO trust in Trevor now and that’s not going to change.

Once that trust is lost it’s never going to come back.

Might as well get rid of him now and bring in a new unsuspecting victim.

Get ready for a serious injury to Hunter in the future as they feature him in the offense as Trevor’s number 1 go to WR.

His body’s not built to obsorb the type of punishment that’s about to be unleashed on him.

Think Dede Westbrook type injury.

Trevor doesn’t throw an accurate or easily catchall ball.

Trevor Lawrence is not, has not been and never will be “Him.” He’s just cannot put it all together. Has plus athleticism, plus arm strength. But when it comes to game awareness, read progression and ball placement, he’s like a rookie in his 4th year. That’s normally a pretty good indicator of a BUST. Especially at #1 overall. Colossal bust is probably pretty accurate at this point.

Has anyone forgotten about the offensive line allowing 7 sacks 2 games in a row? How is any QB expected to be productive with protection that bad? Etienne hasn’t been that good lately either. It all starts with the offensive line.

Watching the last two losses was terrible. I lost all my optimism. Since this is a recurring theme it’s hard not to lose patience. The owner has failed time and time again. I can excuse some of the losses due to the very hard schedule. Now is the softer part. With 4 wins currently I feel like 9 is reasonable. I want to see the Lawrence we saw in 2022 abd 2023 pre injuries. A part of me thinks any QB would fail with what Khan has set them up with
