The weekend is a great time to kick back and reflect. This Week in Purple is the place to catch up on the news from our team at Purple Row. You’ll find links to Rockpiles and other content below as well as a platform for community discussion in the comments.
We are officially in that awkward week between Christmas and New Years where there’s not much going on, but also kids are still off of school and there’s not much work going on. But the good news is that 2026 is nearly upon us, and hopefully that means
we can officially turn the page on the historically-bad 2025 Colorado Rockies. Now, they do still have some roster spots to fill, and one more coaching vacancy, but they are heading into 2026 with a clearer identity and vision than they have in a very long time. The jury is still out as to whether or not that vision will come true in 2026 or if it’ll take longer (or take at all), but we can at least hope for now. That’s the nice thing about New Year’s — it gives everyone a (mostly) fresh slate to start over or start something new.
But while we eagerly wait for the ball (or pinecone) to drop, here’s what our writers had to say in this final full week of 2025:
