As we prepare for the 2026 Syracuse Orange football season to begin, we bring back a TNIAAM staple this week. These previews are not our actual predictions, but rather a look at how the Orange could end up with a certain record this season.
In case you missed it, here are the possibilities we’ve looked at so far:
3-9 record (Kevin)
4-8 record (Kevin)
5-7 record (Dom)
6-6 record (Christian)
7-5 record (Andy)

There hasn’t been a lot of positivity around Syracuse Football in the 21st century. Last year’s
eight-game losing streak made everyone miserable. So, how do you turn that around, you get the most upbeat Orange around to give you their predictions….but then we were unable to agree to terms with Otto so we put a call in to Hosei Football mascot-Orange-Slice Kun for help
Due to some budgetary constraints, we couldn’t get our good friend Orange-Slice Kun, to provide a lot of intel behind their picks, but let’s see how they think the Syracuse Orange will fare in 2026:
New Hampshire: Win (1-0, 0-0)
California: Win (2-0, 1-0)
at Pittsburgh: Win (3-0, 2-0)
at UConn: Win (4-0, 2-0)
at Virginia: Win (5-0, 3-0)
No. 24 Louisville: Loss (5-1, 3-1)
The only prediction that Orange-Slice Kun gave us some context for was this one and this is what we received….“Angry bird scares Orange”.
Better than most of the analysis you get on Big Noon Kickoff.
at North Carolina: Win (6-1, 4-1)
No. 19 SMU: Win (7-1, 5-1)
Clemson: Win (8-1, 6-1)
at NC State: (9-1, 7-1)
at Boston College: Win (10-1, 8-1)
Notre Dame: Loss (11-1, 8-1)
ACC Championship vs Miami Loss (11-2, 8-1)

Orange-Slice Kun didn’t understand the CFP system and felt that playoffs should be based on record so Syracuse should earn a final at-large bid and play in the College Football Playoff. They did not want to make post-season predictions when asked….so you’ll just have to draw your own conclusions on the CFP.
Be sure to check out the new Hosei Orange merch shop if you want more Orange-adjacent football gear.
Well, what do you think? Is this not optimistic enough for you?
