We are 77 days away from the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season-opening game against the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” in Week 1.
Right tackle Jaylon Moore is projected to handle the right edge of the offensive line in 2026 as he dons the No. 77 jersey for the second consecutive season.
He has a long way to go to be remembered in franchise history as easily as these former Chiefs are:
All-time Chiefs who wore No. 77
1. Willie Roaf (2002 – 2005)
2. Jim Tyrer (1961 – 1973)
3. Charlie Getty (1974 – 1982)
4. Rich Baldinger (1983 – 1992)
5. Andrew Wylie (2018 – 2022)
Roaf manned the left tackle position for four seasons in Kansas City, all worthy of Pro Bowl honors. He edges out
one of the most prolific No. 77s in franchise history, who is unfortunately a polarizing candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame due to the tragic end of his life in 1980. He had a storied career that began when the team was the Dallas Texans.
Wylie was an underrated member of the Chiefs’ two Super Bowl victories in the 2019 and 2022 seasons. He played 574 snaps at left guard and 139 at right guard during the first title run, then started at right tackle through the win in Super Bowl LVII.
77: The number of touches Travis Kelce had last season
77 is the lowest number of times tight end Travis Kelce has touched the ball in a season since 2015, the first year Kelce earned Pro Bowl honors in the NFL.
That low number came in a campaign when Kelce still felt like the team’s top target, and he was more efficient with his opportunities than in the previous two seasons. He averaged 11.1 yards per touch, topping his marks in 2024 (8.4 yards) and 2023 (10.6 yards).
With Kelce back for his 14th season, it’s reasonable to see this number remain low compared to his career average of 97 touches per year. The Chiefs’ offense needs the players around the all-time tight end to step up, which helps ensure that Kelce’s production at this quantity could still be high-quality.
